My Latest Adventure |
![]() |
This is a pic of me standing on the rocks at Prelude Lake on my latest adventure with Brad and Jesse. Everyone says I look HUMONGOUS in this picture, I have no idea what they're talking about. I'm just "healthy" for my particular heritage (Rottweiler and Rhodesian Ridgeback). I mean geeeeeeeeesh!, I only weigh around 120lbs. There's no calories in bones right?? They're like Celery aren't they? You burn more calories eating them than are in them right?? Because I eat at least 6 big beef soup bones a week. Please don't make me stop eating bones, for the love of God, please!!!! noooooooooooooo!!!!! I mean just because I scare people so bad when I'm walking towards them on the sidewalk that they actually walk out onto the road until I go by is no reason to put me on a diet and take away my precious bones. |

I'm just conserving my energy ..... really. I'm not tired or anything like that. I just thought I'd sit here while that silly old bugger Jesse was traipsing all across the countryside sniffing and smelling everything. |

The One and Only Rupert |

This is a pic of me (Rupert) hamming it up in one of my famous "cutey pie" poses. Ain't I just the cutest thing you ever saw? Yes, yes, contrary to popular belief, I believe I am! |

My Story |
|
Hello, my name is Rupert. I'm a three year-old Rhodesian/Rottweiler mix, with a 3" long tail and two dew claws on each back foot. I was adopted from the Oromocto SPCA in December 2004. I was picked up as a stray, so I was a bit on the thin side. At first, I suffered from separation anxiety when my newly adopted family was gone during the day. I would get so upset that I would rip things apart to help me feel better. The best things to destroy are comforters – lots of stuffing to pull out and leave strewn about the house, they’re good eatin’ too, although you get “stuffed” pretty quick. One day I was so upset that I had to rip apart the back of a love seat. Actually, that was a very cathartic moment for me, in that I no longer feel the need to destroy things. I have come to realize that my family will always come back home to me. I get very excited when they do come home. It makes me so happy that I jump up and down. Plus, I like to grab their hands with my mouth, just to make sure that they will pet me! I have several favourite toys – like my thingy, it’s a pink plastic ball with little nubs all over it and it squeaks, then there is my little rubber tire which is great for chewing and rolling around, and my newest toy is my whizzo, which is like a nylon Frisbee. I like to put one paw on my whizzo, grab a side of it with my mouth and then pull it up and down and shake it all around!!! I could do that for hours. I like to eat a variety of things – pancakes, rice, pickles, toast with peanut butter, green peppers, soup bones and foam stuffing. I especially like broccoli stems but not the flower part – yuck! |

This is my safe place. Whenever I'm feeling left out, rejected, lonely, ignored or otherwise hard done by, I come here and sleep my worries away in my cozy little Fortress of Solitude. |
